September 18-20, 2024 The conference featured distinguished keynote speakers from BLSD, including Assistant Professor Dr. Pattama Wattanapanit, Lecturer Mr. Konstantinos Balis, and Lecturer Ms. Itsariphak Hongnimitchai.

Day 1 Highlights: Mr. Konstantinos Balis delivered a plenary speech titled “Quantifying Sustainable Practices: Measuring and Advancing Sustainable Development in ASEAN Universities.” This presentation addressed the challenges and best practices for integrating sustainability into higher education, emphasizing how universities can align with Agenda 2030 to enhance their standings in the Times Higher Education Impact and UI GreenMetric Rankings.

The day continued with a dynamic roundtable discussion, “Uniting Minds, Preparing Action: A Call for Collective Effort in Achieving the Sustainable Development Goals,” featuring esteemed speakers such as Milton B. Amayun, M.D. (President, Yuchengco Center), Darwin J. Manubag (City Governor of Iligan), Mr. Konstantinos Balis (Sustainability Expert), and Prof. Alizedney M. Ditucalan, J.D., LLM (Chancellor, MSU-Iligan Institute of Technology). The session was expertly moderated by Dr. Vincenzo Bollentino from the Harvard Humanitarian Initiative.

Day 2 Highlights: Dr. Pattama Wattanapanit,Mr. Konstantinos Balis together with Ms.Itsariphak Hongnimitchai led a workshop titled “Advancing Sustainability in Higher Education: Strategies for Benchmarking SDGs in ASEAN Universities.” This interactive session empowered students, faculty, and administrators as key agents of change, focusing on practical strategies to align institutional practices with the SDGs. Participants engaged in discussions on curriculum development, community engagement, and university governance, all aimed at improving global rankings.
