นักศึกษาจากชมรม BSRU SDGs มบส. เข้าศึกษาดูงาน UN ESCAP กรุงเทพมหานคร

ดูงานครั้งนี้ มีจุดประสงค์เพื่อเข้าเยี่ยมชมสถานที่สำคัญต่างๆ ภายในสำนักงานใหญ่ของ UN ESCAP ประกอบไปด้วย ศูนย์ความยั่งยืนและนวัตกรรม (Sustainability and Innovation Center) และห้องประชุม ESCAP ซึ่งเป็นสถานที่สำหรับการประชุมระดับสูงที่มีการประชุมนานาชาติกับคณะผู้แทนจากหลายประเทศ

ในการนี้ ยังได้รับเกียรติจาก Ms. Sara Libera Zanetti และ Mr. Christian Mortelliti ที่ปรึกษาขององค์การสหประชาชาติ บรรยายเกี่ยวกับเป้าหมายการพัฒนาที่ยั่งยืน (SDGs) ในวาระปี 2030 ซึ่งเน้นถึงความสำคัญและการดำเนินการในภูมิภาคเอเชียแปซิฟิก

UN ESCAP ซึ่งเป็นศูนย์กลางภูมิภาคของสหประชาชาติ มีบทบาทสำคัญในการส่งเสริมการพัฒนาที่ยั่งยืนในภูมิภาคเอเชียและแปซิฟิก โดยสนับสนุนประเทศสมาชิกในการดำเนินการตามวาระปี 2030 เพื่อการพัฒนาที่ยั่งยืน และแก้ไขปัญหาภูมิภาคต่างๆ เช่น การลดความยากจน การสร้างความยืดหยุ่นต่อสภาพภูมิอากาศ และการเติบโตที่รวมทุกคนเข้าด้วยกัน

ระหว่างการเยี่ยมชม นักศึกษาได้เรียนรู้กระบวนการในการทำงานของสหประชาชาติและหน่วยงานต่างๆ ที่เกี่ยวข้อง ได้รับทราบแนวทางต่างๆ เพื่อการมีส่วนร่วมในการเป็นอาสาสมัคร รวมถึงโอกาสในการทำงานหรือการฝึกประสบการณ์วิชาชีพร่วมกับสหประชาชาติได้

การเยี่ยมชมครั้งนี้สะท้อนถึงความมุ่งมั่นของมหาวิทยาลัยราชภัฏบ้านสมเด็จเจ้าพระยาในการสร้างความเข้าใจให้กับนักศึกษาเกี่ยวกับเป้าหมายการพัฒนาที่ยั่งยืน และส่งเสริมการเรียนรู้ในชุมชน ซึ่งเป็นส่วนหนึ่งของโครงการการพัฒนาที่ยั่งยืนของมหาวิทยาลัยที่สอดคล้องกับพันธกิจของศูนย์การพัฒนาท้องถิ่นและขับเคลื่อนมหาวิทยาลัยสู่การพัฒนาที่ยั่งยืน SDGs (BSRU Local and University Sustainable Development Division : BLSD) ซึ่งมีบทบาทสำคัญในการบูรณาการความยั่งยืนเข้าสู่กิจกรรมต่างๆ ของมหาวิทยาลัยและส่งเสริมการมีส่วนร่วมในระดับท้องถิ่น

ในการศึกษาดูงานครั้งนี้ จัดขึ้นภายใต้การดูแลของ Mr. Konstantinos Balis อาจารย์ที่ปรึกษาของชมรม BSRU SDGs ถือเป็นก้าวที่สำคัญอีกก้าวหนึ่งในการสร้างความตระหนักรู้ในบทบาทของตน และส่งเสริมศักยภาพให้กับนักศึกษามหาวิทยาลัยราชภัฏบ้านสมเด็จเจ้าพระยาในด้านการพัฒนาที่ยั่งยืน

Students from Bansomdejchaopraya Rajabhat University’s SDG Club official Visit UN ESCAP in Bangkok

On 16th January 2025, members of the SDG Club from Bansomdejchaopraya Rajabhat University had the opportunity to visit the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (UN ESCAP) in Bangkok. The visit included a guided tour of the UN ESCAP headquarters, including the iconic ESCAP Hall, which serves as a venue for high-level meetings involving international delegations.

UN ESCAP, a regional hub for the United Nations, plays a critical role in promoting sustainable development across Asia and the Pacific. It supports member states in implementing the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and addressing regional challenges such as poverty reduction, climate resilience, and inclusive growth.

During the visit, the students were introduced to the United Nations system and its various agencies. They learned about potential pathways to engage with the UN, including volunteering and internship opportunities.

Ms. Sara Libera Zanetti and Mr. Christian Mortelliti, UN consultants, delivered insightful presentations on the 2030 Agenda and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), highlighting their relevance and implementation in the Asia-Pacific region.

This visit reflects BSRU’s commitment to expanding students’ understanding of the SDGs and promoting community learning as part of its sustainable development initiatives. These efforts are closely aligned with the mission of the BSRU Local and University Sustainable Development Division (BLSD), which plays a pivotal role in integrating sustainability into university activities and fostering local engagement.

The visit was organized under the supervision of Mr. Konstantinos Balis, lecturer and advisor to BSRU’s SDG Club, and marked another step in empowering students to take active roles in sustainable development.
